Concept from Chapter 10

I thought this week’s Chapter 10 was an interesting read because it looked at the many different sides to friendships. When we think of friendships, we usually think of laughs, good times, etc., but friendships are also like any other relationship – they have their ups and downs. The concept I connected with the most was that of support. I chose this for the week because support is the one thing that is most important to me in any friendship.

I remember being in elementary school, middle school, and high school thinking that the friends I had then would be my friends forever. However, as I learned, people’s interests and goals change and that sometimes leaves us disconnected with our friends. My closest friends today are the ones who offer me support not only when I need it, but in general. They show that they care and are never too busy to lend an ear. They listen when I have troubles or need advice and simply offer the best advice they know. Simple words that let me know they are listening and are taking a keen interest mean a lot to me.
